we spent the weekend with my in-laws in cooperstown, ny.  the occasion was the 50 year wedding anniversary of dorothy and roger.

we celebrated thursday with a dinner.  started off with a magnum of champagne (H. Billiot Fils Brut Reserve for those of you interested) accompanied by rasberries.   we munched on appetizers of truffle cheese, soft cheese, hard salami, olives and other pickled vegetables, with sliced baguette.  dorothy and roger opened their gifts... an embroidery of the 2 of them driving off in their yellow and black mini cooper done by yours truly and some smart wool socks for rog (yes, i know).  we then moved to salad course... simple salad with lemon garlic dressing.  for our entree we had a variety of italian sausage from depasquale's in newton with marinated  grilled zucchini, bell peppers, and caramelized onions.  not sure what wine was pulled out but maybe i'll ask marty and do an addendum later.  we had cupcakes for dessert, frosted with georgia tech yellow and black.  a good time was had by all!

the next 3 days was a blur of sunny summer weather mixed with thundershowers... the farmers' museum where sadly mardy became aware of his severe goat allergy... playdates with spencer, addie and ben... more food and wine...lots of family time!
